Edinburgh based company Exec Air Charter Ltd have seen an increase in enquiries for larger corporate aircraft such as the B737 since the beginning of the year.
Charters for large groups offer huge flexibility to users, overcome many exasperations of flying on scheduled airlines, and usually cost less per seat than alternative options.
Hamburg Orchestra are one of the most recent organisations to have used Execair services. The orchestra were commissioned by Edinburgh Festival to perform at this years event.
Dickson Travel are one of the organisations working with ExecAir to provide a charter solutions for their Hamburg clients. Jon Grosse of Dickson travel commented
“As we handle travel for the arts in Scotland, we have on occasion chartered aircraft for orchestra’s or opera companies. Due to the lack of direct flights and the size of the aircraft scheduled airlines use to Scotland, we have found it necessary to charter. The main advantages of a charter is being able to accommodate the whole company on one flight including instruments and also being able to choose suitable flight times. Historically it has always been more expensive to charter although in recent years the gap between scheduled group air fares and chartering had closed. This though is very dependant on route, time of year and size of group.”
Charters of this size are also used for product launches, conferences, incentive and motivational reasons, and corporate shuttles.
Elena Torres, director at Exec Air Charter, believes that under the current economic climate large group travellers are looking at other options that offer real value for money. ”Large groups charters usually pay less per seat than scheduled airlines, as well as flying to their own schedule, avoiding queues and delays.
